Dear Community Development Board, We bought our home in Bozeman 12 years ago on the south side of town. We purposefully bought a house in this neighborhood because of the charm of the area in terms of older homes, streets lined with mature trees and the proximity to MSU and Main street. I appreciate the fact that since we moved here the city is growing rapidly and wants to provide housing for all who want to live, work and retire here. However, the proposed changes to theUDC in terms of combining all residential zones seems very drastic. Plus I don't see any evidence that these changes will provide a significant amount of affordable housing - justmore housing that is very expensive. I'm also concerned that if the city encourages rapid growth our current infrastructure, in terms of water, sewage treatment, police/fire will be unable to support the increased population. My understanding is that the state is giving the city 3-5 years to develop a plan to meet theirrequirements. I urge you to take your time in considering lower density options plus allowing for lots of public input before making final decisions that will have long term impacts. I know you all have the best interests of the Bozeman community in mind and will work todevelop a plan that benefits the whole community. Sincerely, Maggie Beal1017 S. 4th Ave. Bozeman, MT 59715
