Bozeman's city council, I have heard, is considering scrapping its Planning and Zoning
law.on Monday the 18th.
Please reconsider this move.. Scrapping single family zones and dual family zones wouldallow property developers to construct any kind of building anywhere in Bozeman. Neither
my neighbors nor I would want an apartment house or a "big box store" erected next to ourhome. I would not want to live amid unnecessary inconveniences, conflicts, ugliness and
chaos that can occur without city planning. .
City planning, I strongly believe, is necessary. It helps maintain comfortable, healthy andorderly neighborhoods. It protects homeowners against unfair loss of property value. It makes
a town an orderly and attractive place to live, work and raise a family.
Please show my note to the voting members of the city council. I feel more residents ofBozeman should be informed about this proposal before it is voted on. I'm guessing the vast
majority of residents will strongly disapprove of getting rid of zoning..
