Greetings City Commision and Happy Monday - just following up on this email from last week toreiterate that a 'yes' vote from any of you currently on the commission on this proposed rezoning
will result in a vote against you in the next election cycle.
All the best,Mike

I trust this finds you well as the days get shorter and the leaves start to change. I am reaching
out to you as a 20 year resident of Bozeman to voice my concerns about theproposed rezoning regulations that will impact our beautiful town.
Like many, the draw of Bozeman and Montana in general has been the notion of open space,
friendly people and lack of crowds. While Bozeman and the State as a whole have changed inthe 20 years I've been here (generally for the better in my opinion), the proposed rezoning has
me worried as it threatens the underlying fabric of what Bozeman really is, a community wherepeople live good lives, raise families and make socio-economic sacrifice in pursuit of a lifestyle
like no other.
The changes to RA and RB zoning seem to signify a bit of the 'beginning of the end' in a townthat has already struggled with the impacts of development and growth. And while I want to
believe the driver behind these changes is a positive one (in-fill vs. sprawl), I can't help butthink ruining the neighborhoods that do exist will only create a larger wedge in our community
and kill the magic that does remain in our small neighborhoods.
Economically speaking, we all know interest rates are on the rise, and yet home purchases haveremained steady - why do you think that is? Its not everyday people buying 1MM$ homes at
8% mortgage rates - its continued investment from developers and large financial institutions intowns like ours that are driving out the residents and ironically ruining the community they
think they are coming for / buying.
As one member of the community to another, as one neighbor to another, look me in the eye, shake my hand in the park, drive by slowly past my house and wave while my kids play in the
yard, and vote NO on the new zoning.
Don't do it for me - do it for you...you are members of this community, after all. I voted foreach of you when you were up for election and in this moment I hope you represent the values
and feelings of those whom you represent - if you don't, the choice to vote for you again won'tbe so clear.
Regards,
Mike
