Dear Planning Team,
I am extremely concerned with the proposed re-zoning classification, in particular, the change
to essentially eliminate single family zoning. This change would most likely negatively impactthe property values of the neighborhoods in a low density classification. This would be true in
my neighborhood here in West Meadows. It’s true that most of the empty lots are already builtout but my understanding is that the proposed RA classification would allow a multi-family
unit on the empty lot across the street from me.
I propose that you create two residential classifications, one as single family and one as multi-family and eliminate language regarding density. To protect the property values of the
taxpayers who pay your salary I would urge you to grandfather in single familyneighborhoods. It’s true that getting variances for exceptions is a tedious process but it is the
best assurance that those impacted by development are heard directly.
I would also be interested to know how this change would impact HOA covenants. WestMeadow covenants only allow single family homes.
