The proposed change of zoning to turn all R1 and R2 to RA seems like a negative choice for Bozeman homeowners. While there is no doubt Bozeman has an affordable housing issue it seems like these proposed ideas of changing zoning or getting rid of STR's are just shots in the dark that will have no real outcome except to diminish property rights and property values that people have worked hard for. Perhaps actually creating some affordable housing solutions like the Bridger Viewproject on Storymill where many working families were actually able to get into homes. Or partner with HRDC who has worked tirelessly to help people in Bozeman. Maybe encouring more mobile/manufactured home subdivisions where home prices are actually affordable. Perhaps discontinuing working with developers like AndyHolloran who are drastically changing downtown with luxury condos that no locals can actually afford. I have grown up in Bozeman (5th generation) and am saddened by all the change, lack of affordability and loss of community in our town. I worked hard and was lucky enough to buy a home here many years ago and count on that investment for my future. Changing the zoning of it could potentially change the value of homes in my neighborhood and for many others who have also worked hard and consciouslybought a home in R1 zoning to raise their families in. Please consider keeping zoning for current homes in place and keep what little charm is left in Bozeman neighborhoods. Thank you for taking the time, Anonymous Bozeman homeowner for 20 years
