My name is Nancy Rosen, and I have lived at 1107 S. 5th Ave. for 22 years. One
of the reasons I moved into my home was the feel and atmosphere of theneighborhood, specifically our block. It is comprised of home owners who have
taken much pride in their homes.
There is one sorority on the block that has been an excellent and considerateneighbor. There is also a fraternity (grandfathered) that has been a challenge at
times in terms of noise. (But we knew that when we purchased our home.) Onefraternity was alright, but then add another - with the idea that there is no control
of potentially more fraternities - that puts this sweet neighborhood on acompletely different level.
The idea of possibly no control over the number of fraternities and/or adding 8
unit apartment houses to the mix is horrifying. Changing the zoning to combiningR1, R2 and R3 into one RA zone is the ultimate slap in the face to the families
that have worked hard to make our neighborhood livable and aestheticallypleasing.
Please do not be hasty in making these changes to the zoning.
