Hello,
For nearly two years I have dealt with campers, tents and school buses parked on Blondie Ct
and Veronica Way. These two roads were paved a few years back and since Covid, thehomeless have decided to call it home.
I used to walk out there with my dog and young son. After the things we have witnessed, we
no longer go out there. It was a fun place to bike and scooter but alas, now it is filled withnoisy generators and people who think it is okay to toss their trash outside their camper and
just leave it.
They run generators any time day or night, so now when my windows are open for summer, Iget to hear the hum of their generators.
I am a single mom trying to keep my head above water paying rent in Bozeman. The added
stress of this makes like here no longer very enjoyable. I have been here since 2015 and do notwant to leave but I am not being given much choice. Bozeman has let this problem get out of
hand - both the cost of rentals and the homeless encampments.
I have seen people get out of their campers in their boxers, brush their teeth while staring atthe Bridgers and empty their pee jar into the grass. I have seen obvious drug activity, random
trash left behind when they depart and abandoned campers and sometimes crashed up cars thatthey leave behind. I have reported too many abandoned vehicles and campers to count, I had
my dog attacked by some campers dog who got out, I had one camper tell me to keep myleashed dog away from his as it would kill mine. All of this a few hundred feet from my patio
and spanning for a few blocks from me to Davis St and south a few blocks.
Enough is enough. Don't you care about your residents who want to live here and be goodcommunity members? I don't understand why you do nothing.
Two years ago I heard from a police officer that it has to do with the 9th Circuit Court of
Appeal in California that you cannot evict them. For goodness sake, by now you would think asolution could have been devised.
I beg of you to fix this problem. I do not have many options for places to relocate to since
everything is so expensive. .
When is your next City Council meeting? I want to express my concerns in person.
