Good morning, I would like to add comments on the thoughts about the July 6th Urban Parks and Forestry
Board meeting concerning the Gallagator trail. As a Bozemanite-born and raised- I first used the trail to bike on as an elementary kid with a
friend who lived nearby the trail. We would ride our bikes to school together in middle school toSacajawea. I enjoyed the cool fresh air in the mornings and the occasional puddles after rain
storms. The trail is well maintained with little rocks and is level with a nice width to bike on withpassing room. We would watch for wild animals which thankfully we only saw deer on rare
occasions. Later, the cross-country team for Bozeman High would use the trail as a running routeboth during the summer and school year. The gravel was better to run on than pavement or
sidewalks and offered a great health benefit. It would be sad to see that benefit go and be morelimited as a runner to fewer dirt/gravel trails. As this news to me is new since last night at a
BSWD run I hope that the gallagator trail system can remain as it is. I feel fortunate to havegrown up having fun on the trail and can still use it today.
Thank you for your time,
Katie
