Dear Commissioners, 1.After attending the meeting last night and listening to the workshop regarding short term rentals,I wish to weigh in on the rental issue. For those concerned about the cost of a rental for living, the problem is with the landlords, not folks making short term rentals available. If you make it harder and tax more for short termrentals, that will not free up the type of places folks like all those last night in yellow shirts hop to find. 2. Regarding proposed Ordinance 2147.A. Do you all honestly believe that the city can build enough buildings for all the folks arriving here and already living on the streets at [present? And how will you pay to buildingthis type of building? B. The city is currently behind on clean up of city sidewalks and streets where houseless folks are camping. Some of whom had their cars or campers towed here. (Yes. Towed. I have if on very good authority of a person I know well who helps manage a storage area on Mandeville who has seen vehicles towed here.) C. Please all drive on Mandeville and Wheat streets with your windows down. The stench isalmost overwhelming. And get out of your cars to pay attention to the needles in the grass along Mandeville so the owners of the storage area cannot mow or water the grass. Also notethat the woods behind the storage area are often filled with human feces. D. Since there is a n ordinance in place now that requires anyone living in Bozeman to keep all city sidewalks clear, then the city must clear all the sidewalks now overflowing withgarbage where there no homeowner you can cite. E. Issues currently at hand degrading our city (aside from the Mexican drug cartels now present so that my friend on Mt Ellis Road has been informed by the police that they are here.) a. safety for all home and property owning residents as relates to items in the streets includingdrug paraphanalia and trash and health hazards of use of outdoors for a toilet. b. knowledge that those living on the streets here now are letting folks in other places its OKto come here. c. be aware of panhandling going on at various box and grocery stores arouond town as wellas folks be threatened by some houseless. F. Bozeman is being degraded day by day with the mushrooming issue of more and morehouseless arriving and living on our public streets. G. It is not OK to continue what you have been doing. F. Conduct a survey of all houseless folks to see how many are working. Sincerely,Carolyn Hopper
