I grew up in Bozeman and am now a homeowner within theBozeman city limits. I afford the home that my family and I live in because we Airbnb a small portionof our home during the summer months. I am writing to express my strong support for continuing toallow short-term rentals (STR) of all types within the city of Bozeman. I firmly believe that suchaccommodations not only benefit the community and the local economy, but they also provide asource of income for homeowners, thus allowing them to afford their homes more easily. The presence of STRs encourages tourism and brings in visitors who contribute to the localbusinesses, restaurants, and attractions. This not only helps boost revenue but also creates jobopportunities for residents. Moreover, it diversifies the city's tourism offerings, catering to a widerrange of travelers seeking unique and personalized experiences. Homeowners who engage in short-term rentals often rely on the additional income to cover theirmortgage payments and property maintenance costs. Allowing STRs provides homeowners with aviable means of generating extra income, thereby promoting homeownership and potentiallydecreasing the risk of foreclosure. I understand the concerns about maintaining the character and integrity of residentialneighborhoods. However, it's important to note that many homeowners who engage in STRs arecommitted to being good neighbors and are considerate of the local community. They adhere to astrict code of conduct, ensuring that guests are respectful of the neighborhood's tranquility and thatnoise levels are kept in check. I would like to respectfully request that the city consider the positive impact that allowing short-term rentals can have on the community and local economy. By fostering an environment thatembraces STRs within reasonable limits, Bozeman can continue to thrive as a welcoming and diversecity, appealing to both residents and visitors alike. Thank you for taking the time to consider my perspective. I am more than willing to discuss thismatter further and contribute to any constructive dialogue surrounding short-term rentals. Sincerely, Ken Jenkins 406-600-8194
