I am writing to encourage passage of the ordinance limiting camping in the city right-of-way.
This is hard as I feel for the people who can't afford to live and work here, but I do feel thatthe current situation in Bozeman is impacting quality of life. Even the short stretch of Fowler
between Babcock and Huffine, near Ponds Park, has become more littered with the increase inurban camping. The situation on Hemlock is particularly troublesome because of the burned
out trailer so close to places of business, but I also really feel for people who live in theapartments off Davis, near Chief Joseph Middle School.
While I know the ordinance doesn't specifically address this, it seems that there would be a
way to stop urban camping in our city parks. While our taxes fund these parks, I amuncomfortable walking through them now. I have also had personal experiences of being
unable to use public bathrooms at multiple parks around town because they are either locked,or the porta potties are overwhelmed.
Many thanks,
