HI City Commission. We are the Burges Family and we own the home at 1972 Vaquero Parkway in
Bozeman.
Although our hearts break for those living on the streets, we feel strongly that this societal challenge
must be dealt with through temporary housing during rehabilitation and/or institutional housing if
rehabilitation is not possible. Allowing camping is not a solution.
Mental and physical health assistance and proper temporary/long term housing is the challenge and
the opportunity. We believe the generosity of our fellow citizens will support these solutions
economically if government or non-governmental organizations develop plans and budgets.
We strongly encourage an ordinance that will challenge the current camping pattern, however we
also believe in the solutions described above.
Thank you for your attention and consideration. And thank you for addressing this issue before it
gets too far out of hand.
