Yes! The City Commission should FINALLY take steps to minimize the blight, trash andcrime from long term urban campers. Bozeman has developed a region-wide reputationfor being any "easy touch" for RV squatting, which explains the spread of the problem tomany parts of the city.
The City Commission has let this mess propagate way, way too long. Give the police thetools they need to deal with the problem.
I'd suggest the Commission take a quick field trip down Hemlock Street to get an up closeand personal look at the impact these folks have on Bozeman property owners andviolation of sanitary codes.
If I'm expected to move an vehicle sparked on a city street after 72 hours, park facing withtraffic flow, and have a fully licensed and insured vehicle while I pay ample taxes to helpmake Bozeman a nice place why can't the squatters be expected to conform to thesereasonable rules also?
