To the City Commission:
I am strongly in favor of an ordinance that would prohibit "urban camping" adjacent to
residences, schools, and daycares. I would similarly support rules that would require thatcampers move every five days to a different location.
While I recognize the systemic challenges are complicated, and hope to see a variety of
solutions aimed at easing the cost and availability of housing in Bozeman, my most immediateconcern is in my role as a parent. We had a school bus housing two people, both with criminal
records, parked immediately adjacent -- that is, within about 10 feet -- of her pre-school'soutdoor play area. This was much too close for comfort, and it persisted for roughly three
weeks.
Also worth noting that I was raised outside of Boston, and spent five years living in Portland,OR. In my experience, the normalization of public derelict behavior tends to breed more of the
same.
