At the City Commission meeting last night, Mr. Ross presented an amazing amount of
material supporting lowering speed limits all across town. Our neighborhood, the Bogert Park
Neighborhood, has been working with the Western Transportation Institute for 6 years now,
setting up traffic calming at the Gallagator crossing at Peet's Hill, and at the edge of Bogert
Park at Bogert Place. These installations are wildly popular, and have a lasting effect on most
drivers. But what you did last night is another piece in the puzzle to making our neighborhood
and Bozeman a safe place to walk and bike. The permanent speed limits for school zones and
park zones will give citizens a heads up that Bozeman is serious about sharing the roads, and
will give law enforcement support to enforce what is a common sense regulation. I heartily
support the City Commissioners and Mr. Ross in this decision.
