I'm writing as a Bozeman resident to support the request for a $400,000 grant by Family
Promise of Gallatin Valley. I echo the comments of our Executive Director, ChristelChvilicek, included below. Thanks for your consideration.
Dear Mayor and Commissioners,
I urge you to approve the request by Family Promise of Gallatin Valley for an allocation of
$400,000 to be used toward the purchase of the Montana Bible College campus, to serveFPGV’s clients in need of emergency, transitional and workforce housing. The families we
serve need safe and comfortable housing with features that are appropriate for children. Currently we have to serve our most vulnerable families in hotel rooms that are not designed
for long term living or for children, and are at times unsafe. We have many families on awaiting list for any kind of shelter. If we are able to purchase the Bible College campus, we
will be able to greatly increase the quality and quantity of housing options for our clients. When these folks are housed and stable, they contribute to our community and make a positive
economic impact. Investing in them means investing in our community as a whole. We urgeyou to allocate the requested funds.
