Dear Mayor and Commissioners,
I urge you to approve the request by Family Promise of Gallatin Valley for an allocation of
$400,000 to be used toward the purchase of the Montana Bible College campus, to serveFPGV’s clients in need of emergency, transitional and workforce housing. The families we
serve need safe and comfortable housing with features that are appropriate for children. Currently FPGV has to serve our most vulnerable families in hotel rooms that are not
designed for long-term living or for children, and are at times unsafe. FPGV has manyfamilies on a waiting list for any kind of shelter. If FPGV are able to purchase the Bible
College campus, they will be able to greatly increase the quality and quantity of housingoptions for our clients. When these folks are housed and stable, they contribute to our
community and make a positive economic impact. Investing in them means investing in ourcommunity as a whole.
