Dear City of Bozeman Commission and Leaders, Please consider with great urgency an allocation in the annual budget to Family Promise of Gallatin Valley to purchase a new family work force housing complex formerly Montana Bible College. Every resident of Bozeman understands that there is an issue with finding employees, securing affordable housing, and keeping families thriving. As our home values rise, we are seeing more and more people leave our city and state for more affordable options across the country. As more people of means are arriving in our city and state, amenities and services are required to adequately serve the growing population. Family Promise strives to bridge the gap in numerous ways that benefit the city and county and allow for a better functioning community.: FP provides scholarships and high quality, affordable day care so families can continue to share joint employment opportunities instead of being single earner households-CRUCIAL to creating a robust labor pool. FP provides intensive programs and case management to ensure our families become housed, employed, and viable, productive members of our community. FP plans to expand services to meet rising demands of affordable, work force housing and move our existing families along with multiple wait-listed familes into a central campus. This new campus (The Montana Bible College) will provide expanded housing, class room learning, and community events to keep families thriving and parents employed locally. Many of these programs will be open to the public! FP will be able to better reach and serve families on the verge of being unhoused (enhanced prevention programs) by providing services to families BEFORE they must decide to leave our community for more affordable places. We need families to stay in Bozeman. We need to expand employment in Bozeman. We need to support Family Promise in their mission to keep families together, housed, growing, and positively impacting our beautiful town. This organization uses resources to the benefit of this community in ways that many others cannot. We urge you to consider providing as many financial resources as possible to FP so they may continue to grow and meet the needs of ever-expanding Bozeman. An investment in Family Promise is an investment in Bozeman’s positive growth plan. Thank you for your consideration and support of Family Promise of Gallatin Valley!
