Black Ave. and N. Tracy Ave., Bozeman, Montana To Prospective Bidders: You are invited to provide a bid for the alley enhancement project in the alley between North Black Avenue and North Tracy Avenue in downtown Bozeman, Montana. The intent is to construct/install the bid items during the summer/fall of 2023. Depending on pricing and the Downtown Bozeman Partnership’s (DBP) budget, some adjustment to the bid items may be undertaken. Bid Date See Call for Bids. Requirements of the Selected Bidder Provided below are the requirements that the Contractor receiving the Award must adhere to: • An insurance certificate shall be provided naming the DBP and the City of Bozeman (City) as a certificate holder. • Contractor’s Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount, shall be provided to the DBP and the City. • The Contractor will enter into a Contract Agreement with the DBP and the City. • Additional requirements as may be shown on the Call for Bids. Schedule for Work The City is aware of the high volume of construction activity in the Bozeman area. In lieu of demanding a hard schedule, the City is asking that the work be completed in summer/fall 2023 as your schedule will allow, but the work needs to be completed during the 2023 construction season. A preliminary schedule needs to be agreed upon at the onset of the project. 111 N Tracy Ave Bozeman Montana 59715 406.587.4873 www.design5la.com Page 2 of 3 Available Budget for Work If the bid is higher than the amount budgeted for this project, then some bid items may be removed in order to reduce the construction contract amount to fit the budget. If this situation occurs, the likely items to be removed will be some or all of vinyl art wraps on the horizontal concrete sections of the parking garage (Item 14). • We encourage all bidding contractors to submit bids, even if the bid amount is above the budget amount\. As stated above, the scope will be reduced to fit the available budget. • We encourage all contractors to submit bids for all bid items (1 – 20). Contract Documents The selected bidder will be entering into an Agreement/Contract with the City for this work. The contract documents include this letter, bid forms for all bid items 1 – 20, a measurement and payment section, and a set of construction plans. All of these items are provided in the Call for Bids. Bid Items 1 - 20 This project includes bid items 1 - 20. The proposed improvements that are covered by these items are outlined in the drawings, the Call for Bids, and the Bid Form. Costs for mobilization, insurance, bonding, taxes, traffic control, etc. are incidental. Costs for these items are to be included in the other bid item costs. No separate bid items are provided. Structural Engineering Once the sculptures have been fabricated, the Landscape Architect will engage a structural engineer to provide connection details to mount the sculptures to the parking garage, and will also provide connection details for the light mounts on the parking garage and the adjacent existing brick building (Schnee’s). Pre-Bid Conference/Walk-Through See Call for Bids for information. A pre-construction meeting will be scheduled at the onset of construction. 111 N Tracy Ave Bozeman Montana 59715 406.587.4873 www.design5la.com Page 3 of 3 Construction Staking Construction staking will be limited on this project, however any staking required, especially for the pavement coatings, shall be sub-contracted through the bidder, preferably by TD&H Engineering, who completed the existing site survey. Signage and pavement markings shall be installed in the locations shown on the plans. Materials Submittals Submittals will be required for the materials that will be supplied on the project. These will need to be reviewed and approved by the Landscape Architect prior to installation.
