CITY COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3076
COUNTY RESOLUTION NO. 1995-48
A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
AND THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR GALLATIN COUNTY, MONTANA,
CREATING AN ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD TO GOVERN THE ESTABLISHMENT
AND OPERATION OF A JOINT CENTER FOR COMMUNICATION, DISPATCH
SERVICES AND RECORDS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE
HIRING OF A COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS DIRECTOR.
WHEREAS, in October 1994, the Bozeman City Police Department and the Bozeman City
Court reloc3tsd to the Gallatin County Law and Justice Center. pmsmmt to a lease agreement
between the City of Bozeman and Gallatin County; and
WHEREAS, in conjunction with the relocation of the City's law enforcement services, it
was recognized that a joint center for dispatching and filing of records would be of benefit to both
entities and the community; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that the creation of the joint center should be undertaken
after the Police Department and the Sheriff's Office. as well as their dispatch centers, had worked
closely together for a period of time and had identified the needs for the joint center; and
WHEREAS, the development of a joint center would be in the best interests of both the
City of Bozeman and Gallatin County; and
WHEREAS, the consolidation date for the joint center has been set, by these governing --
bodies, for January 1, 1996.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, and
the Board of Commissioners for Gallatin County, Montana:
Section 1
A seven-member Administrative Board to govern the establishment and operation of a joint
center for communication, dispatch services and records for law enforcement is created. The Board
shall have the following members:
1. Gallatin County Sheriff
2. Sozeman Police Chief
3. Bozeman Fire Chief
4. Gallatin County Attorney or designee
5. Bozeman City Attorney or designee
6. Gallatin County Commissioner
7. Bozeman City Manager or designee
Section 2
The Administrative Board shall immediately commence the process of hiring a
Communications Systems Director, under the Gallatin County's personnel policy and procedures,
with an anticipated hire date on or about November 1, 1 995.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, and the Board
of Commissioners for Gallatin County, Montana, at regular sessions thereof held on the 5th day of
September 1995.
