Dear Mayor and Commissioners,
I urge you to approve the request by Family Promise of Gallatin Valley for an allocation of $400,000 to be usedtoward the purchase of the Montana Bible College campus, to serve FPGV’s clients in need of emergency,transitional and workforce housing. The families we serve need safe and comfortable housing with features that areappropriate for children. Currently we have to serve our most vulnerable families in hotel rooms that are notdesigned for long term living or for children, and are at times unsafe. We have many families on a waiting list forany kind of shelter. If we are able to purchase the Bible College campus, we will be able to greatly increase thequality and quantity of housing options for our clients. When these folks are housed and stable, they contribute toour community and make a positive economic impact. Investing in them means investing in our community as awhole. We urge you to allocate the requested funds.
