Hi there, I am following up again on the issues with my business Guaranteed Rate and the homeless living on 11th Ave. I see that the “street clean” did not happen as planned unfortunately. This afternoon I filed yet another police report as we had another individual enter our building and then was in my office standing at my door staring at me while I was on the phone with a client. By the time I could get off the phone and alert my assistant he was back out on the street. I filed a similar police report about 2 weeks ago when another individual entered our office and then we finally decided to lock our office door. Unfortunately this is hard to do 24/7 since we have to leave to use the restroom etc and today we forgot and another individual decided to come in. These definitely are not clients and this gentleman today looked like he was on drugs and clearly came from the streets. I saw him roaming around outside my office window previously looking at me. Last week on multiple occasions we caught the homeless using our public restrooms. At this stage I am at a loss of what to do. We now really don’t have another choice except to lock our front office door at all times and when clients come we have to leave a note or ask them to call us to be let in. What is your solution here to protect business owners and professionals like myself? I am being told to call the police each time this happens and as you very well know this does no good except get noted on a log. Even if I called the police immediately they would be long gone by the time anyone arrived. 11th Ave is a busier street. Why is that curb not painted yellow to allow no parking? There is zero reason to even allow parking on busy street like that for many reasons. All that is it doing now is generating transient activity. Can we not consider this? I would love to hear your solution for me and my business as yet again I am begging you to listen to the complaints coming from your working professionals in this town.
