Newhall - Jarrett Zone Map Amendment, App 23047 protestBozeman Community Development C/O Bozeman City Clerk 121 North Rouse Ave. PO Box 1230 Bozeman, MT 59771-1230 PROTEST OF APPLICATION 23047 (Jarrett Subdivision} To Whom It May Concern, This letter is written in protest of the proposed rezoning ofthe Jarrett Subdivision, application 23047 within the City of Bozeman. The developer is requesting to amend the zoning map from Rl to R2. . As a neighbor and adjacent property owner to the Jarrett Subdivision, I would like to understand the reasoning for the increased density as it will greatly devalue my property and the adjacent community of Alder Creek. The expansion of Bozeman is inevitable, but continuing to add high density housing to desirable areas will leave the town with a scattered layout and devalued property. I would also challenge the need for additional, high density housing in this specific area as there are many other R2 and multi-family complexes going up around Bozeman in more appropriate areas. I fear that that the pull to increase high density housing in this area of town is misguided arid takes away the desirability of living in the adjacent neighborhoods. Congestion and infrastructure are already seeing strain and moving toward more density doesn't make sense for this subdivision. Please reconsider and chose not to amend from Rl to R2, and if nothing else, please consider keeping the area South of Graf Street zoned Rl. Thank you for the consideration. ~-......:;_Q_,--·~···_--~-___._..,,___-----fh r 12--5 DAN NEWHALL (adjacent homeowner) 1071' Bookdale Dr. Bozeman, MT 59715
