Hey,
I'm emailing about the Thriftway Super Stop Site Plan & Special Use Permit, Application # 22039.
This proposal does not meet Bozeman's city requirements for safe access so close to the intersection ofBaxter and Davis, as required by BMC 38400.090. For this reason, application # 22039 and the specialpermit required under BMC 38.230.120 should be denied.
Additionally, this area is a highly residential area with kids riding bikes to schools and crossing Baxter &Davis all the time; by adding a gas station the increase in traffic will endanger these kids. There is a gasstation on 19th, 1 mile from the proposed spot. There is no need for another gas station, especially soclose to residences. It's absolutely not safe nor is it needed. This will endanger our kids' safety. It willremove the ability for kids to walk and ride bikes to school who have to cross those streets. Bozeman isplanned to allow for people to be outside, bike to school & enjoy the parks, but adding this gas stationinto the middle of a residential area will destroy everything Bozeman has tried to create in ourcommunity. It will change the area to create an unsafe place for kids and others to enjoy the sidewalksand parks because of the added danger of increased traffic. It doesn't make sense to allow this in ourcity, in a residential area. It isn't safe.
Lastly, there will be increased noise and light pollution on residential areas that impact all the peopleliving in the residences surrounding that area...and for what benefit? It doesn't benefit the people. Ithurts the people and our kids.
This permit should be denied.
