A Bird Scooter was parked in the middle of my sidewalk this morning, blocking access for those who aren't able-bodied. I called the listed phone number for Bird, but it’s not in service (never has been). I moved the scooter to the curb as I’m mowing my lawn this morning and didn’t want it there. It seems as if money paid to a consultant regarding scooters is unlikely to accomplish anything beyond using taxpayer money so that decision-makers can deflect responsibility. Add this to the list of frustrations that result from living in a community where the enforcement of ordinances and regulations is sorely lacking and where complaints are often met with a hopeless shrug. Yesterday, I spotted a man and a very young helmetless child riding tandem on a scooter and scooting along through traffic and a pretty good clip. One probably can’t fix stupid, and these scooters are an engraved invitation to club stupid. Follow the example of Paris, Honolulu, Madrid, and other cities throughout the world that have had the wisdom to ban these things. Bob Waters 509 W Harrison Bozeman Sent from my iPad
