Good morning,
Work to install high-tension median cable rail along Interstate 90 (I 90) in the
Bozeman area continues next week.
There will continue to be two separate construction zones with reduced speed limits.Crews will be separated by at least five miles, and each work site will require lane
closures. The westbound and eastbound left lanes will be closed closest to the
median in both construction areas.
One crew will continue to lay out and install line posts between Three Forks and
Manhattan.
The second crew will work further east, installing anchor posts between Belgrade and
Bozeman.
On Saturday, May 20, only the crew installing line posts between Three Forks and
Manhattan will be on-site, requiring only one area of westbound and eastbound lane
closures.
Next week, crews will be on-site Monday to Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and
return on Wednesday, May 31, after the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Drivers should anticipate minor travel delays due to lane closures and reduced
speeds. Speeds are reduced through the construction zones. Please slow down and
watch for workers and equipment. Montana Highway Patrol will be onsite monitoringtraffic.
Remember the three Ss of work zone safety when traveling through the project sites:speed, space, and stress. Slow down when approaching work zones and follow
posted speed limits. Leave adequate braking room between your vehicle and the one
ahead of you. Keep your cool, pay attention, and plan for delays.

Seat Belts Save Lives! Buckle Up, Montana.
For many Montanans, Memorial Day weekend kicks off the start of summer travel,
culminating with Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, these summer months can also
be some of the deadliest on Montana’s roads due to increased motor vehicle crashes.
As part of a nationwide “Click It or Ticket” mobilization running from May 15,
2023, through June 4, 2023, law enforcement agencies and the
Montana Highway Patrol (MHP) will be out to educate motoristsand enforce Montana’s seat belt law statewide. Before you make plans to travel
this Memorial Day weekend, commit to always buckle up before you go, and
insist your friends and family do the same. Using your seat belt is your best
defense against serious injury or death in the event you’re in a crash. This is a Vision
Zero Message from the Montana Department of Transportation. Learn more about
the goal of Vision Zero and seat belt safety here:
