Hello Nakeisha and Bozeman City Planners!
I’m writing this in regards to Application 22039: a special permit for B-2 zoning for a 12 baygas station and 24 hour thrift store on the corner of Baxter Ln. & Davis Ln. I strongly oppose
this, and urge you to please reject this application for the following reasons:
Noise levels, traffic, and light pollution will increase. This street corner is directlyadjacent to multiple subdivisions of single-family homes which will be negatively
impacted by this. There are already several other gas stations in close proximity — we clearly do not
need another one.Conoco @ 1871 Baxter Ln.
Smith’s Fuel Center @ 1400 N 19th Ave.Costco Gas Station @ 2505 Catron St.
Exxon @ 2525 N 19th Ave.Fuel trucks and fuel pollution will increase. Again, this area is full of single-family
homes with lots of children who walk/ride to school and play outside.
As I’m sure you know, B2 zoning is for “Community Business Districts”, which are "aimingto provide for a broad range of mutually supportive retail and service functions". There are so
many other business types — which are much less intrusive and detrimental to surroundingareas than a gas station & 24-hour store — that could contribute positively to the local
neighborhoods and Bozeman’s overall economy.
Please reject this application!
