Please find attached a written letter of protest to the rezoning amendment to the JarretSubdivision from R1 to R2. Can you please address this at the meeting this evening? Thanks for your time and consideration, Dan Bozeman Community Development C/O Bozeman City Clerk 121 North Rouse Ave. PO Box 1230 Bozeman, MT 59771-1230 PROTEST OF APPLICATION 23047 (Jarret Subdivision) To Whom It May Concern, This leter is writen in protest of the proposed rezoning of the Jarret Subdivision, applicaon 23047 within the City of Bozeman. The developer is requesng to amend the zoning map from R1 to R2. As a neighbor and adjacent property owner to the Jarret Subdivision, I would like to understand the reasoning for the increased density as it will greatly devalue my property and the adjacent community of Alder Creek. The expansion of Bozeman is inevitable, but connuing to add high density housing to desirable areas will leave the town with a scatered layout and devalued property. I would also challenge the need for addional, high density housing in this specific area as there are many other R2 and mul-family complexes going up around Bozeman in more appropriate areas. I fear that that the pull to increase high density housing in this area of town is misguided and takes away the desirability of living in the adjacent neighborhoods. Congeson and infrastructure are already seeing strain and moving toward more density doesn’t make sense for this subdivision. Please reconsider and chose not to amend from R1 to R2, and if nothing else, please consider keeping the area South of Graf Street zoned R1. Thank you for the consideraon. ___________________________________________ DAN NEWHALL (adjacent homeowner) __________________________________________ LEXI NEWHALL (adjacent homeowner) 1071 Bookdale Dr. Bozeman, MT 59715
