Dear City Commission:
I write to encourage you to impose additional regulations on scooters.
Currently, neighborhood residents are unwilling participants in making profits for the scooter
companies. Why should a company make money off of using my yard for a parking area?
The person who used the scooter frequently, and irresponsibly, just leaves it anywherethey please. Whoever rode the scooter does not reside where the scooter was left. The scooter
sits there for days. Sometimes blocking the sidewalk. Sometimes we have to move them tomow. It's as if residents are providing a service for the irresponsible scooter company.
At a minimum, the scooter companies should be required to retrieve scooters that haven't
moved after 6 to 8 hours. Better yet, the scooter companies should have designated parkingspots for their scooters.
I am not anti-scooter; they are convenient transportation. The companies need additional
regulation.
