To whom it may concern,
The busy summer sidewalks of downtown bozeman is not a place for scooter rentals. It is a
public safety hazard and detracts from our city. My feelings on the matter closely mirror thecomment below and I second the opinion.
Personal ownership of scooters provides low impact mobility. As such, they are
subject to similar vehicle restrictions as bikes, i.e. not riding on sidewalks, obeying all
vehicle traffic laws, and being ticketed by police. Rental scooters are a public liability,
scattered about the city like single use trash bags, becoming an ugly safety hazard.
Rental scooters should simply be outlawed, as they have been done in other cities
through voter referendums.
If the city won't deal with the problem at their discretion, the voters will need to.
