Dear city commissioners,
The street camping situation is out of hand, and it only seems to be getting worse.
Your lack of attention to this problem is turning parts of Bozeman into slums. Look at thepictures I attached. Ask yourselves if you would want this in your neighborhood or in front of
your business? How can you allow this to happen to other people's neighborhoods? I believethat if these campers were parked in front of your homes and businesses, then you would see
the urgency of the situation and wouldn't have let it get to this point. Please consider some suggestions to help improve the situation:
1. Invite the campers to camp in front of your own homes and businesses. This might help
you come up with your own solution. 2. Split the city into 12 street camping zones that include every part of Bozeman. Only
allow camping in one zone per month. This way, at least your neighborhood will only beaffected for one month of the year.
3. Create a permanent city camping area with shower and toilet facilities. Charge a campingfee to cover the costs of such a facility.
Please do something. A public street is not supposed to be somebody's permanent home
for their camper and all their belongings.
Sincerely, Guy Santiglia
