I would like to share some thoughts on the proposed west-side development. I have the impression that the current swimming facilities in town are very crowded, and I do support a swimming pool in the area. I am less sure about the fitness center. I wonder if with the parks, trails, etc., if we have enough now. Are MSU facilities open to the public? But I am not completely opposed to this. About the branch library. I worked at the university library for over 30 years as a paraprofessional, very much enjoyed the work, and I certainly get the importance of libraries, public and otherwise. However I do not believe we need a brick-and-mortar branch library. The east side library never seems overwhelmed to me. Another library would require staff when help seems to be hard to get for most companies/organizations. I think a branch library would require some unnecessary duplication of paper materials. Are library patrons able to access some materials online if they have a card? I would rather see tax dollars go to the Streamline bus service, maintenance and/or expansion and improvement, to help disadvantaged patrons get to the existing library. I was happy to vote yes to that. So can these three items be separated out? If the branch library is included in this, I will be voting no. Thank you for your attention, Judy Staigmiller Bozeman MT
