Stanley - Fireworks Ban4/19/23, 12:46 PM about:blank about:blank 1/3 Customer Submission #CS-23-140 Open Created on April 19, 2023 by Hal Stanley Description I read that Commission is considering banning fireworks in City Limits starting this summer. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE THE COMMISSION TO BAN FIREWORKS PURCHASES AND USE IN THE CITY LIMITS!!! This is the one time of year I least like living here. Fireworks are exploded at all times day and night for at least a week surrounding the 4th every year with few people following the rules on setting them o. I don't mind a one time celebration on the evening of the 4th like you plan to do at the Soball fields, but the constant noise and scaring of pets is intolerable. I would hope with the ban the BPD would take serious enforcing the ban. This is critical in drought periods and for fire prevention, but there are many other related problems, but having regard for Pets which have hearing much greater than humans and don't know whether the noise is danger is a major one. I try to leave Bozeman every year during this time to avoid this ridiculous intolerance of others. I oen go to Jackson WY which has banned them for years except for a 2 hour City sponsored show at SnowKing in years where the fire danger is low.
