Dear Commissioners,
I support the proposal to ban fireworks in Bozeman. The noise disturbs the peace of our neighborhoods around the
clock, well outside of the permitted times and days. It is particularly traumatizing to pets, young children, and
anyone with sensitivity issues. The residual trash from exploded fireworks is an eyesore. The risk of fire in our
drought conditions is too great.
I’ve lived in Bozeman since before fireworks were permitted, and although there were still violations, it was much
less of a problem. Now the rule is regularly violated with little consequence. If the city bans fireworks altogether,
then there will be fewer violations, and the limited resources of our law enforcement can be put toward much better
use.
Please ban fireworks. Thank you.
