Rouse Avenue Bozeman MT, 59718 Dear Bozeman City Commission, I'm writing to you today to talk about the escalating cost of real estate in Bozeman. It goes without saying that Bozernan's population has been growing significantly each year in recent years. More homes must be created because the number of individuals moving to Bozeman each year has increased by 42% since 2019. Moreover, expenditures on monthly costs have increased by 10.5% since the third quarter of 2022. The cost of mortgages has climbed even more as a result of rising home interest rates. As more people relocate here and the cost of living rises as a result, a trap is created where more individuals move to Bozeman but can't afford the housing costs, leading to an increase in the number of homeless people and tighter budgets for Bozeman natives. More housing must be built as a solution. Further restrictions must be lifted in order for that to happen. In order to speed up the construction of homes, I propose that some limits on building licenses in the city of Bozeman be removed. The requirement that the home be situated within a designated floodplain is one restriction I advocate eliminating. As flooding is not a significant environmental concern in the city of Bozeman, it is not necessary to build your home adjacent to a design ted floodpljn. I sincerely hope you will give my letter some thought. Sincere) y ¢`----------------- Blake Bishop Gallatin High School
