COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3099
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, IN MEMORIAM TO EDMUND PREMYSL SEDIVY, SR., AND TO
EXTEND CONDOLENCES AND SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
WHEREAS, Edmund P. Sedivy, Sr., former City Commissioner and former Mayor of the
City of Bozeman, Montana, died on Friday, December 15, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sedivy has maintained permanent residence in Bozeman since 1946 and
has been an outstanding citizen of the community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sedivy served the City government of Bozeman with unusual dedication
and distinction, being elected to the City Commission for five consecutive terms commencing in
January 1960 and ending in December 1979; and serving as Mayor of Bozeman from January
1966 through December 1967 and January 1974 through December 1975 and May 1977 through
December 1979; and
WHEREAS, Edmund P. Sedivy, Sr., provided exemplary and dedicated service to the
citizens of Bozeman; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sedivy served as President of the Montana League of Cities and Towns
from September 1976 through September 1977; and
WHEREAS, he had many civic affiliations, demonstrated by his participation in the
Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce; member/director of the 46th Army Montana National Guard
Band; director of the Algeria Shrine Band; and serving three terms on the Bozeman School Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, herewith extends its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Edmund
Premysl Sedivy, Sr., in this, their hour of bereavement; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Commission is herewith instructed to
convey this measure to Mr. Sedivy's family and to officially record this resolution in the minutes
of the regular meeting of the City Commission on the 18th day of December 1995.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
regular session thereof held on the 18th day of December 1995.
