Hi Billy,
I spoke with Staff on this to get some clarity on the measurements and vector references and it appears that Staff does
not universally apply this requirement unless it’s for architectural lighting, and the parking lot lighting output against all
of these vertical planes would be minimal.
I think given this information, I will not require these plans.
Arielle and/or Jesse, please indicate this conversation when you resubmit for the MSP and Phase 1 SP in regards to
Comment #34, and Comment #37, respectively.

Hi Nakeisha,
The example below shows a vertical plane that is measuring vertical footcandles normal to the building along the
building’s wall. With an open air parking lot, there isn’t really a natural reference point to measure vertical
footcandles, so what plane(s) would you like to see these measurements shown and what on what vector should
those footcandles be measured?

For further explanation – this is required for parking lot lighting proposed along the north and east portions of Building A
as the code as specific vertical illuminance standards.
