Learn About USDA Community Connect Program
Delivering Broadband Networks to Underserved Rural Areas
USDA is now accepting applications for grants to build community-
oriented high-speed internet networks to connect Montanans in our rural
and Tribal communities.
The Community Connect Program offers financial assistance to eligible applicants that will
construct broadband networks which provide community-oriented connectivity in rural
areas. Grant recipients must agree to provide high-speed internet service at community-
serving institutions free of charge for up to two years. These institutions include schools,
libraries, fire stations and other public safety sites.
Eligible applicants include state and local governments, federally recognized Tribes,
nonprofits, for-profit corporations, and limited liability companies. USDA does not provide
funding directly to individuals under this program.
The application period is now open, and applications are due on June 20, 2023.
