Subject: Formal protest to application 22090, Gran Cielo II Annexation and
Zone Map Amendment(includes Enclosure 1)
Dear City Commission,
As an owner of real property within 150 feet of an area affected by application
22090, Gran Cielo II Annexation and Zone Map Amendment, this letter is my
formal protest of this proposal. I am the sole owner(address provided above),
and you'll find my signature below.
There are a number of reasons for my protest, many of which you have grown
accustomed to hearing from Bozeman residents. For the record, I'll simply tuck
these away at the end of this letter, although I do hope you will consider them
(Enclosure 1).
Finally, in the time I have lived in Bozeman, development has changed my
neighborhood and impacted my quality of life. I prioritize where and when I
leave the house based on traffic and crowds. People are not as friendly and
kind to each other, and crime is increasing. Please consider the value that this
beautiful 80+acre parcel brings those of us who live here. Every day it
reminds me of where I am from and how lucky I am to be here.
Sincerely,
4A;

Enclosure 1 - Formal protest to application 22090, Gran Cielo II Annexation
and Zone Map Amendment
Homeowner protest includes the following considerations:
1. Lack of infrastructure to support this level of development: Traffic is a
primary concern, not only because the existing roadways were never
meant to sustain the traffic this would bring but also because there are
a number of other developments in process at this time compounding
the effect. Additional infrastructure concerns include utilities and
whether the existing infrastructure can operate at the capacity
required. Emergency services and emergency access are another
concern.
2. The City has emphasized the importance of maintaining Bozeman's
agricultural legacy when considering development, and this
81.468-acre site represents this legacy. Maintaining and celebrating our
few remaining rural areas is becoming increasingly important.
3, Given all the recent development in Bozeman, are we still striking a
balance between community needs and quality of life?
4, Recommendation: Carefully evaluate the impact to wetlands and
critical habitat before approving this development. There is a wide
variety of wildlife and plant life this area supports, some of which may
be protected under the Endangered Species Act.
