Dear Commissioners,
We were surprised to see that nowhere in the Staff Report does it mention the reason that the Commission alreadydenied this project or why it was brought back. Affordable housing is a good thing, but are the relaxations worthsafety?
After careful review of the materials we are opposed to this project for the following reasons:
1) Lack of a secondary ingress/egress for safety purposes. All it takes is one fire and most of the residents will betrapped.
2) The failure to consider 2mile long trains blocking emergency access to this general neighborhood delaying helpor hospital access for 20 minutes and longer.
3) More stress on flood zones downstream. The East Gallatin River has had increased pressure with extra fill beingplaced in flood zones causing the river to carve deeper and limiting access by wild life. We can not endorse thisproject without the agreement of the Gallatin County Core of Engineers.
Thank you for your hard work,
Marilee Brown,Executive DirectorSafer Bozeman and Gallatin County
