Dear Commissioners,
I am writing to urge you to deny the proposal for the Shay Glen development project.
This proposal is nearly identical to the "Bridger Meadows" proposal that was voted down in
July of 2021.
To that point, there are no meaningful modifications to the proposal that should encourage youto reconsider.
The proposed development still has only one point of public access. This puts the
public’s health and safety at risk during an emergency.
This property sits on a designated wetlands area. The developer is asking to
reduce the required amount of watercourse setback, causing stress on the
land that consistently floods. One of the primary reasons our community is so
desirable is ready access to natural areas. Adding a development in this location is irresponsible on behalf of the wildlife, the habitat, and the public's
opportunity for enjoyment of open space.
This development includes a cul de sac. This development style is the antithesis of a connected community and well planned neighborhood. As Bozeman continues to grow at a breakneck pace, it is more important than ever to
make conscientious decisions about what to preserve in our community. The
proposed Shady Glen development degrades the quality of our existing community, and I urge you to once again vote NO on this proposal.
Thank you for your time and dedicated service to our wonderful city.
Sincerely,Callie Miller
