SHADY GLEN DEVELOPMENT To: The City Commissioners of Bozeman, Montana From: Twyla Slater, 2413 Birdie Dr. Unit B, Bozeman, MT 59715 Phone: 406-480-9829 E-mail redtwyla@yahoo.com This letter is concerning Shady Glen Development, formerly Bridger Meadows, voteddown July 20, 2021. It will be a land locked , 16 home cul de sac built upon a sensitive riparian area. The only exit will be on Birdie Drive to Bridger Drive. Every week day Birdie Drive is totally parked with business vehicles, trucks, and cars,making two way traffic difficult, at best, and impossible during snow conditions. Bridger Drive is a busy street, soon to be busier with the Story Mill Development. This subdivision will have big impact on added traffic and poses amajor concern for the health and safety of our neighborhood, In addition, Shady Glen is asking the city to relax 6 of it's own development codes. One of these allows being closer to the East Gallatin River than allowable by city standards. On wet years this land is known to flood extensively, already impacting neighboring developments regularly in the spring. The people on the planning board all had questions and doubts about the development's impact on nearby residents, wetlands, and vehicle access. None of the concerns and doubts were adequatelyaddressed by the developer. When the city commission considers this development on March 21st, 2023, I would hope they would look at Birdie Drive and Bridger Drive on a week day to see the already existing congestion. I hope they consider a cul de sac with 7 homes and continuing street with 9 more homes and one exit through the Links condominiums. I hopethey consider the wetlands and the effect this development will have on existing homes. The flood issue should be addressed. Why would the city commission vote for a subdivision with so many negative points and somany hoops to jump? Thank you for your consideration. The city commissioners' decision will have a lasting effect on many people and issues.
