USDA Announcement to Increase Fertilizer
Production in Montana
Bozeman, Mont., Mar. 10, 2023 – CORRECTION: USDA grant applications for fertilizer
production and capacity expansion in Montana under the Fertilizer Production Expansion
Program (FPEP) are still under consideration and no final determinations have been made
regarding funding offers.
In an earlier news release, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development in
Montana announced that Farmers Union Oil Co. of Circle received a grant offer to expand
capacity and increase output at its McCone County fertilizer plant. The project is still being
reviewed.
The Biden-Harris Administration’s Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP) is part
of a government-wide effort to promote competition in agricultural markets. It supports
independent, made-in-America, innovative, sustainable, and farmer-focused fertilizer
production.
