MEETING DATE:March 8, 2023 AGENDA ITEM TYPE:Citizen Advisory Board/Commission RECOMMENDATION:Discuss the qualifications of new officers applicants. STRATEGIC PLAN:3.1 Public Safety: Support high quality public safety programs, emergency preparedness, facilities, and leadership. BACKGROUND:The Police Department currently has vacant police officer positions. Three applicants have successfully completed a multi-layered hiring process, a psychological evaluation, a comprehensive medical evaluation, and a robust background investigation. UNRESOLVED ISSUES:None. ALTERNATIVES:As suggested by the Police Commission. FISCAL EFFECTS:All costs associated with hiring and training new officers are contained within the current budget.
