Bozeman, MT 59715 sheridan@sheridanjonesla.com March 1, 2023 Ross Knapper RE: Canyon Gate Project Dear Mr. Knapper, We would like to comment on the missing green space in Canyon Gate’s Layout. Is it ok to allow a developer
to pay money instead of provide the much-needed green space to 400+ residences and the many business employees who will undoubtably want to enjoy a morsel of the outdoors on occasion? Why is there a lead-in to the neighboring residential area’s private green space? One can certainly envision clashes down the road with
this scenario. Canyon Gate developers, planners, architects, designers, builders, etc… will profit from this project that plans
to maximize hard surfaces while minimizing outdoor gathering areas. Are they entitled to the use of neighboring maintained private outdoor spaces provided by developers and planners who had a vision of what thriving and loving your environment requires? Outdoor space is king. Canyon Gate should be required to create a space for people to actually thrive, not simply house them in concrete and wood. Perhaps they could take seriously the need to provide their own managed awesome outdoor spaces. There is a lot to consider with a lot at stake for many people regarding any development. I know the City of Bozeman cares about their population and I believe their decisions will sway in favor of all of us who enjoy living here. I hope this letter has been helpful. Thank you for considering our thoughts.
Respectfully, Sheridan Jones Stephen Wolf
