Dear Commissioners and Mayor-
In regards to the UDC discussion tonight-
2/14/23, please consider adding the following areas for updates:
Increased setbacks in transition zones such as no more than 2 stories higher than adjacent buildings.
Increase corner setback from 10 square feet to 100 square feet every two stories.
Remove minimum height of 15 feet in first floor of commercial.
Increase floor area and building size in neighborhood commercial.
Bring small pocket park requirements back to commercial zones for outdoor eating areas, open space and air
movement.
Limit black buildings.
Require/incentivize good passive solar design with window overhangs on south and west sides.
Require highest recommended insulation.
Limit new commercial zones in newly annexed farmlands and encourage growth to be more centralized.
Place temporary moratorium on cash in lieu of parks until the financials match market rates.
Increase sensitive lands setbacks or disallow any deviations from setbacks.
