Re: Multi-Use Recreational Center
Dear City Commissioners,
Most of the community understands the need for an aquatic center, but to add an open
gymnasium with a multi-use recreational components does not make sense for Bozeman
nor our tax dollars.
The community is well served by many recreational centers and fitness clubs, almost 50
tax paying businesses. With MSU's new center under construction, a lot of these
businesses will lose members. It is not good business to compete against a non-taxpaying
government business.
Our property taxes continue to rise, and this proposal adds more unnecessary taxes. The
commissioner should be more concerned about efficiencies within their own governing
body,particularly City Planning and raising costs due to time delays.
After paying Bozeman property taxes for over fifty years, it would be great to see less
government and let the private sector take care of recreational needs.
