One thing to note is that the introduced bill has an amendment to it, so to see the final bill, youneed to look at the amendment. The bill allows cities to set up these cameras. Critically, the
amendment then says what they can be used for, which is most purposes, such as speeding,school zone enforcement, accident investigation, etc., except red light enforcement through
ticketing based on just the camera. Rep. Ed Stafman

Hurrah for Billings (and Montana State Representatives Kelly Kortum, Ed Stafman and
Denise Baum)! Thanks to their work, allowing traffic cameras is now going to be up beforethe legislature starting on Valentines day in Kelly Fulton’s name. Please have staff contact
Danny below if you want them to help. This will take a concerted effort. Others on this emaillist can help organize those who you know. We can do this if we all work together!

Anyone can give me a call or email if you want to help push this effort in an organized way. Maybe the School District or City would have a bus we could all take to the most important
meetings in Helena.
And please let me know who to coordinate with in the City. We should have politicians,
police, engineers etc. And maybe it would even be a great idea to get this kind of thing (alongwith other legislation) on the City public email lists.

8 am. (Co-sponsered by Rep Denise Baum of Billings).
