City Commissioners,
I received a telephone call from an activist volunteering on behalf of Bozeman Tenants
United. I don't know enough about the issues to sign their petition, but as a 33-years-longBozeman resident, I feel sad that young people who have grown up here cannot find
reasonable adequate housing. I know there are many different ways to try to address theproblem, but it's not unique to Bozeman but to many places in the US. I also know the state
legislature is limiting local options to try to address the problem. I am proud of these youngpeople taking the time and effort to engage with our political process when it can seem
overwhelming. It gives me hope for the future. I also hope you will take their effortsseriously and work with them on many ways to address this pressing concern, including extra
taxes on out-of-state owners of local homes among other strategies.
Sincerely,Rachel Rockafelllow
