COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3120
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONT ANA, ORDERING REMOVAL OF
THE LOCKABLE GATE ON NORTH 20TH
A VENUE WHICH WAS INSTALLED TO
PROVIDE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE
STREET TO THROUGH TRAFFIC.
WHEREAS, more than 50 percent
of the residents on North 20th Avenue petitioned for
closure of the street. due to increased traffic on North 20th Avenue; and
WHEREAS. the Commission adopted
Commission Resolution No. 2872 on the 17th day
of August 1992. stating its intent to close North 20th Avenue by placing a barricade across said
street at a point between the north right-of-way line of West Main Street and the south right-of-
way line of Durston Road; and
WHEREAS, the Commission conducted
its public hearing on that resolution of intent at its
regular meeting held on the 9th day of September 1992; and
WHEREAS, the Commission adopted
Commission Resolution No. 2880 on the 28th day
of September 1992, providing for temporary closure of North 20th Avenue at mid-point between
West Beall Street and Durston Road; and
WHEREAS, North 19th Avenue was
extended north from Durston Road to the North 19th
Avenue interchange and opened in September 1995; and
WHEREAS, a traffic signal has
been installed at the intersection of North 19th Avenue and
Durston Road; and
WHEREAS, the Commission has determined
that reopening of North 20th Avenue to
through traffic by removal of the lockable gate and barricade is in the community's best
interests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, that the temporary barricade on North 20th Avenue be removed immediately.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City
Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
regular session thereof held on the 20th day of May 1996.
